Criollo Cacao (Theobroma cacao) Seeds

Cacao or cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is a rainforest tree whose seeds are used to make chocolate.  The pulp around the seeds is sweet-sour and delicious.  Criollo cacao is known for producing high quality chocolate and only makes up about 5% of the world’s cacao production.  The fruits tend to be warty and pointed, the seeds are rounded and white to pinkish.  Seeds are available year round.
